SAFE
Our first SAFE series was produced at Acadia Cafe on Franklin & Nicollet in Minneapolis in the summer of 2004. We featured visual artist, movement, music, poetry, body art, and film. We have been supported through fundraising and donations from the community.
The SAFE events are a place where artists and audience members are invited to be an active part in building community, experiencing different art forms and collaborating in new ways. We encourage artists to bring their work to sell - CD's, books, paintings, photography, jewelry, pottery, whatever you have to give - and it is our hope that in broadening our smaller artists communities we can make it more of a reality for artists to make a living through their art. And for the audience, we hope to open them to new up and coming artists on the scene and give them an opportunity to speak directly with the artists and purchase their work.
